Greek Prime Minister on the brink over eurozone referendum

3rd November 2011

In the early hours of this morning finance minister Evangelos Venizelos attacked the plans for a referendum. That attack along with the opposition of other ministers including the defence minister, may mean that the Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou will lose a vote of no confidence in the Greek Parliament tomorrow precipitating a general election with a crunch cabinet meeting later today as the Telegraph reports.

What will the referendum ask?

No-one is actually sure what a referendum – were it to take place – would ask.
